So, with one away win and one home loss, the Ospreys are getting ready to welcome Glasgow Warriors to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening. With the Team Wales boys away in Pivacamp, the Ospreys will turn to their Squad for this match.
I would like to see a matchday 23 of
R Jones H Morgan
S Otten S Myler
T Botha K Giles
BBBD S Williams
A Beard K Williams
D Lydiate M Protheroe
M Morris D Evans
G Evans
Reps - G Jones, D Lake M FIa, W Griffiths, G Volpi, R Morgan-Williams, J Thomas, T Thomas- Wheeler
...but I expect that Lake will start, Cracknell will be at 7 and Morris at 8 with L Morgan in for Giles.
What do you think?
Great report!
I think we have beaten two teams who when they looked at the fixtures thought that they had an easy win there. Good start in my opinion. Keep it up boys .
The OST match report is here - https://www.ospreyssupporterstrust.co.uk/post/ospreys-v-glasgow-warriors
A great win though.
I found the first 30 minutes so hard to watch, but we seemed to shake it off and take control. Myler is crucial at 10. I agree too that I think we easily could’ve scored another 2 tries.
Apart from lineout, Lake was a beast.
Very happy with the guts and balls in that performance!
our pack had the upper hand ,and backs looked sharper, we left a few tries out there . Lake had a very good game unlucky with a few turnovers he looks like an absolute bull.
Big upset - great guts and courage to overcome our limitations. Loved the grit.
I thought the youngsters brought real energy and they deserve their places in the team.
scrum demolished theirs and Lydiard with Biard gave opus the steel
Congratulations the Os, I did ’ expect them to Win to be honest , but well played
Hard fought win. Well done Ospreys. Thought that Lake had a reasonably good game. Needs to work on his throwing in, but we know that. His work over the ball is excellent and thought he was very unlucky with the two penalties that went against him.
Scott Otten has been withdrawn from the Squad due to being in close contact with someone with Covid19.
Plus if Matawalu gets on he will tear through us as usual , we dont ever seem to defend against him.
The Ospreys seem to have given up trying to communicate with their fans over who is injured and who is not. It makes it hard for us to assess why certain selections are made. It is very disappointing. Are the off field/medical staff still on furlough?
You can get away without communicating with the fan base when you are winning. It becomes harder to do so when you start losing.
Their backs should rip ours to shreds.
Hope I'm proven wrong , but our Pack look very mediocre
This is going to be a tough encounter, even though they've lost 9 to Scotland, they've had a few returned. They're strong in their threequarters and have a smattering of class throughout their pack and on the bench.
If we can get some sort of parity from our pack the battle between the 4 centres should be illuminating, in fact I think Kieran could have a field day.
Ospreys have named their side to face Glasgow Warriors at the Liberty Stadium for round three of the Guinness PRO14 on Saturday 24th October, K.O 5:30pm.
Dan Lydiate captains the side and packs down in the back-row alongside Olly Cracknell. The experienced James King makes his return to the starting line-up at number 8, after over a year spent on the sidelines battling an injury. Adam Beard and Bradley Davies make up the second-row pairing with Rhodri Jones, Dewi Lake and Ma'afu Fia up front.
In the backs, Stephen Myler partners Reuben Morgan-Williams as the half back paring, and an unchanged back three sees Luke Morgan, Mat Protheroe and Dan Evans retain their jerseys. Scott Williams also makes his return to the starting line-up, partnering Keiran Williams in midfield.
On the bench, Scott Otten Gareth Thomas and Tom Botha provide the front-row cover with young Will Griffiths and Sam Cross making up the forwards off the bench. Youngsters Harri Morgan, Josh Thomas and Tiaan Thomas-Wheeler complete the matchday 23.

Speaking ahead of the game, Head Coach Toby Booth said: “We are driving an element of when you put an Ospreys shirt on, it requires a certain price of entry. It’s about the effort and the necessity to prepare well to show those levels of effort and preparation, in very extreme environments and situations, and that ultimately is when you know what team we have got.
“We have an opportunity to put some smiles on people’s faces and to give people some positive distraction, and I have made no secret that this team represents its people."
I reckon Lake will start, no Morris but James King will be back
