Of course the total race has been running for years but you have to recognise that Booth took over a side that could not win a game and rebuilt it from the ground up working on set piece and defence as priorities and only last season starting to try and develop the attack. Given his departure it will be left to somebody else to improve on the attack which has been disappointing. But it is not something that has been worked on for years as set piece and defence were given initial priority. Good attacks involve interchangeability between backs and forwards and not in a time wharp where centres pass to wings in space as they did in the amateur era. I want our attack to improve and a good attack coach be brought in but I want it to be a modern style of attack not some retro version of the seventies

We have to agree to differ on our description of rugby. To me rugby started to decline when defence became more important than attacking flair and guile.

I agree totally rugby is a less enjoyable watch. Defence has been given too much of an advantage in the ways the rules have developed and the game officiated. So we don’t differ on that at all. My point is we have to deal with what the game has become at top level not what it was.

He has his strengths in terms of his excellent running lines but he is not great at the basics and does not scan well before he arrives. It is very noticeable how much bigger physically Hardy is than RMW.

We really need to produce/recruit a decent SH, it really holds us back in terms of attack.

There's a young Welsh lad from Bont who is with Bristol Bears and has just got into the Welsh set up at U18/20s. Maybe we could look at bringing him home?

It is great to see such a strong team/squad and it is even better knowing that 7 big squad players are due back soon, hopefully back in time for Europe, so yes things are looking up.

Morgan Morse is the most long term of the injuries. Really dodged a bullet with Botha.

Botha and Conbeer are likely gone for a good while mate.
