From the Booth interview, it sounds like we’re sending an experimental and weakened side out there.
I think that’s sensible even though it’ll probably get very ugly quickly. We should be preserving the squad for winnable games and I think it is pragmatic of Booth to effectively throw this one to target home games. Even if we’re a few points below par, it’s far more important to preserve the squad at this stage.
I’d like to see Joe Hawkins and Walsh paired at 10-12, and I’d like to see Protheroe at 15 to see if we can get a consolation try BP.
It’s all so hopelessly futile though isn’t it? Even the Ulster commentators were making conciliatory statements regarding the Ospreys. Not our fault I know that we are always up against it, but the futility comes home after so many seasons of the same old. Of course the test will be when we entertain them at home but what can change?
