I doubt that. He is here to reduce losses. That is very different because it involves creating new revenue streams. I don’t think the board comprise idiots. They know it is only new revenue streams that will enable us to survive

We all talk about DOR’s and HC as interchangeable but they really are not. The DOR has a wide ranging role across the organisation and it is possible Toby did not want a role where first team coaching was not his primary role. If at some point we hear there is a technical Director or Performance Director and MJ and JT are left to run the first team squad that will probably tell you the terms of the role were not what Tony wanted.

As Fiddler says, he is not here to specifically cut costs. He was brought in to reduce costs whilst improving revenue which is overall good for the business. He has binned off the rubbish sponsorship deals and is negotiating new ones. I do wonder if it was one of the reasons why ACJ left?

Bradley knows that a successful team brings in more revenue and to have a successful team you have to invest in that team.

I don't think that many Ospreys fans wanted Toby to leave but the decision has been made, for whatever reasons, and we all have to get on with it.

In his mid-fifties Toby could be going back into academia/education/high performance sport consultancy, he would get paid a lot more.

If I were to guess his new job had not been confirmed at the time of the supporters evening and they think it may come out if they don’t take the bull by the horns
