With Sharks beating Gloucester neither Ospreys nor Connacht can reach the last 8 so will Toby go for a party atmosphere next week or will he make a statement with our strongest possible line-up? We have already won all we can with the "Welsh Shield" so perhaps a run-out for players that will be our future is called for?

Confused by this. Friday changes nothing for us, we can still finish in the top 8, albeit unlikely. Missing out on the Champions Cup certainly isn't a shame - We should be targeting the latter stages of the Challenge Cup yet again next season.

It is early and I am still to wake up fully, but I am confused. How does a Sharks win in the Challenge Cup affect the URC standings and the Top 8? We could still get into the playoffs but not qualify for the Champions Cup - is that what you mean?

Don't the winners of the Challenge Cup qualify for next season's Champions Cup thus leaving just 7 URC places to compete for because they are way down in the table? If I am wrong then apologies, this is getting way too technical for me.

I believe you are correct and we cannot get into the Champions Cup but we can still qualify for the Top 8 and the URC playoffs.

Hence it is not season over. To be honest champions cup with a low seeding would be a disaster because there are idiots out there who think we can be competitive with the top seeded champions cup teams at full strength and would not accept the inevitable hammerings particularly in the away legs.
