I would hope the temporary situation is Ruddock taking a look to see just how bad it is behind the scenes. Iirc he was a very good man manager, so could get the players firing properly quite quickly I think. I gotta say, it’s fingers crossed from me, would be happy to see him in charge.
TP, would that be such a bad thing, unlike his Wales appointment where he wasn't allowed to fetch in his own team, apart from Hogg, attack or back and defence are up to him and with the major signings in players about to commence it is a good start IMO.
I think it is a smart move from a PR point of view. Outside a few really die hard fans probably in single or low double figures Millward is viewed as clueless. Relying on his judgement would be a disaster. He is just a bag man.
Ruddock is a hugely popular man in the region. He will help the PR enormously. I am not sure he is the ideal coach but he is the ideal candidate to take an overseeing role maybe even until after the next Lions tour when AWJ retires and he becomes the obvious DOR. If you can get that Ruddock to AWJ succession then you get stability and sense and you can introduce quality position coaches around them.
This is really all about building an infra structure and good balanced recruitment. You could have the greatest coach in the world struggle with some of our poor quality players. This season is about finishing above the Dargons and Zebre getting into europe through the back door again and having a proper squad ready for that.
TP, if he has still got decent contacts he is exactly the kind of person to do this review. He's been outside the Welsh bubble but still involved in Rugby
@ogwrwayne - It is literally for a month so I don't know how much of an impact he will have. He is reviewing the rugby operation and will assist Sherratt and Hogg.

I know he’s only here for a small amount of time, but he can get us playing without fear that’d be great. We appear to be crippled by it.

I really hope he stays with us full time...an excellent coach IMHO.
