I think you are missing the fact that Blade is Scottish qualified and South Africans and SouthSea Islanders are covered by Kolpak which deems them European for these purposes. I imagine that given Brexit these rules will go out of the window particularly if we negotiate freedom of movement with the old commonwealth countries which looks on the cards.
The old agreement between the WRU and Regions allowed 6 nwq and two time servers but this may have been changed. Time servers will now be five years. Botha has just squeaked in under the old three year rule.
Yep I was missing those facts.
@brodyrbach Taken from pro14 rules:
6.2. A maximum of two non-European players are permitted in a Team’s match squad.
not sure if I’m missing something but 4 of the 5 you mention are non-european.
Please let them be in contravention😊
What is the limit on NWQ's appearing on the field for the same team at the same time?
I believe, if not corrected, that the Scarlets v Dragons had 5 in the pack at the same time i.e. Scholtz, Ratavu, Lousi, Thomson and Kalamafoni.
Is this allowed or are they in contravention of the rule?
