Ospreys to train from St Helens and possibly play smaller games there. Loss of Premier Club is a £500k Annual (minimum) hit on the region.
also in talks with Castore (Rangers and Sarries) Umbro and of course; Macron for a kit deal. CCC prepared to listen to offers but we grossly underachieved when aiming for their minimum sales target (Terrible, lazy designs signed off, woefully bad PR via our social media accounts and obviously results being the main factors)
Ethan Roots looks like winning first cap for England on Saturday. Shows you can find diamonds in the rough if you look hard enough. Just make sure in future they are not England qualified Comgrats to Ethan.
According to Scarlet fever, the scarlets were after James Fender but he turned them down to re sign with us. Thank god.
Keep your eyes peeled for a very special new member posting soon.
Feels like end of days territory. But a favourable article from our favourite journo:
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/how-ospreys-turned-themselves-welsh-28492340
Anyone know if any of our injured players are back in some sort of training?
We have a new CEO -
Ospreys announce Lance Bradley as new Chief Executive Officer | Ospreys (ospreysrugby.com)
TRP saying today that Nicky getting interest from Bath Brirstol and French clubs, Says he is under long term contract but has a get out clause at end of season which I suspect he will need to activate pretty soon if he wants to get out. article also says Pat Lam looking for tight head to replace Sinckler and has rekindled interest in Smith to replace. Thought Lam would know Nick is a loose head
It's all quiet on the western front as far as any St.Helens revamp/redevelopment, I saw an article over the summer suggesting Swansea University were holding talks with us about creating a hub/park of some sorts. Has anyone heard if those dicussions have progressed since then?
Well George has made a video for Provence fans confirming that he has signed with them for next season. Nice while it lasted now score some tries and boost your sponsorship earnings for when you gat there.

So we've signed James Kenny a TH prop from Exeter on a season long loan deal, hopefully he'll bolster our expertise in this very necessary position
So according to yesterdays Rugby Paper, we are not only losing 5 players to Team Wales we are losing our Captain for the same match but to play for the Barbarians, I wonder if the only player from us not selected for this match Gareth Thomas will be allowed to play for us on Friday night?
I may (and probably) have missed it, but any news on Will Griffiths' injury?
Mike Ruddock joins the Board as a non executive director. Great move.
Booth's interview on the O's social media today suggests he's looking to bring in a few more players yet, seemingly implying players at the World Cup holding it up so I wonder if there may be a few bargin bin signings from the T2 nations? There's a few really useful players in those Chile, Uruguay & Portugal teams on semi-pro or basic deals with their unions who would fit perfectly. Marcelo Torreabla, the Chile 9, comes to mind as a great player in a position we need.
The Ospreys have had their new Squad photos done and the squad has swollen to 49 players. There are a couple of new names there that I have not heard of before - Alex Ashton and Liam Edwards (locks)?
The Ospreys have announced that they have signed Toby Fricker from Bistol Bears. This kid has some serious gas on him.
Anything interesting come out of tonight's meeting?
Is there anything interesting happening on the training field these days, no new faces or anything?
Leinster home shirt £78.
Ospreys home shirt £102.
GDP per capita in Neath? £20,380.
In Dublin? £92,269.34
Yes I agree £73 is a bit steep, even with a season ticket discount it maybe beyond some peoples budget.
The new kits have been released with Ecowatt as the sponsor (just as Paul called it).
Both are nice and the away is certainly different.
replying to Tommyboy
It was always a very very big ask to have the development ready for next season , even the start of 25/26 will need a driver , not only the planning and construction , but the application and approval of grant aid
Proposal for high rise residential on the corner adjacent the present clubhouse will help , but in reality minimal
Good to hear Mike James is involving himself ( ex contractor - Scimitar, and the "engineer " in Liberty , Rob being the money man )
All the vibes are it's going to happen
From what I heard tonight, SH will probably not happen until 25/26. They really want it to happen but a few hoops to jump through was my take on it.
Well the Cardiff shirts seem pretty decent I hope macron come up with something decent for us.
Supporters meeting at Gnoll on Monday 18th September at 18:30.
I'll be there. It's a chance to get answers to our concerns
Is the shirt and new sponsor out today?
Are we any closer, to a good news story, particularly St Helens? All the interest that was generated by the delay of the season tickets for "something big" seems to have been lost.
Anyone fancy the job of Ospreys MD? Apply now via LinkedIn.
Sorry can't make it to St. Helens today, if anybody sees or hears anything significant today could they post it on here.
Thanks Wayne
I hate it when they go radio silent.
All players at Llandarcy were wearing their new Ospreys training gear this morning.
It's the traditional black with sea blue waves across the jersey.
I'll try and get a photo tomorrow as was very difficult today:)
One of the players was wearing a green top which disclosed what looked like the new sponsor on the front.
Was difficult to make it out clearly but it looked like "ECOWATT" who after searching their about portfolio appear to be involved in climate control and renewable energy projects which could tie in to the redevelopment project at St Helens?
Nothing else new over there today butMark Jones has certainly made himself at home it looks like:)
The Ospreys have said Goodbye to Philtronics today as title sponsor so we can expect a new sponsor to be announced shortly...
I was hoping for some news today, only radio silence.
Reply to all
He did say new and imminent, would love it to be Vodaphone
Told to expect an Imenent announcement of major international sponsorship ? Any information ?
Reply to Fiddler
I understand your sentiment, I used to know Rob quite well, and have followed The Ospreys
From inception, but the point made about communication is very relevant
Rumours of Scarlets, Trailblazers then Cardiff , give the impression of a business investment for the new owners , since my post which I didn't promulgate a number of seasoned season ticket holders have contacted me to confirm their thoughts align with mine and are determining whether to renew or to to decide which games they will attend and perchase seperate tickets
All very sad
Every year I wonder why they don't state the full price, including handling fees. For me and the kids £250 becomes £263.50. I still think it represents good value but wish they'd be transparent on how much it will cost.
After the big build up that announcement was a bit of a damp squib.
Or is there more to come.
I notice that Corin Palmer has been removed from the Rugby page of the website, he was on there with Toby earlier in the week
There's something on SF where someone's heard that we've signed Mark Jones as defence coach.
Well anything coming out this week then??
Rumoured that SCC lease St Helens on a yearly basis to SRFC and GC
Well I hope the announcements get more cheerful as the month goes on.
A well after the radio silence e can now look forward to a month of good news, I hope.
@paul.rogers83 Any murmurings on any potential new arrivals?
W
Wonder what the exciting news is.
I know the ospreys have a policy of not commenting on stories in the media, but they need to be aware that radio silence in the face of yet more destabilising and worrying reports can easily be seen as a complete disregard and lack of respect to the fans who support the region. If ever they needed to do a Q&A session with ST holders it's now, or at least make a statement that clarifies what the hell is going on.
I hope the Os break this radio silence before long after the Cardiff crap I think the we deserve some good news.
Ospreys in TRP this morning saying they are not looking to move to Cardiff and said they only spoke to Cardiff to help them because they are in such a state.
Somebody on here asked a question a few weeks ago, concerning outlying Osprey supporters whether we would travel to support the Ospreys if and when we move to St. Helens. I answered in the affirmative for at least the first season to see what the experience was like, and then make a long term view about continuing.
Let me just say if any of this article is true and I believe talks have taken place I would NEVER go to CAP to support any form of amalgamation between us and Cardiff Rugby, and basically the same is true of my Brother in law.
Why is it that Y11 are prepared to talk to them, they were prepared to talk to Ealing Trailfinders and a few years ago, we were at some point even talking to the Scarlets even though it was a different Board, WHY IS IT US every time.
Finally when the Season Tickets come on sale in the next few months unless there is clarification that we're not going anywhere and not joining with somebody else, it will take a lot for us to engage for at least another year. I went through the same sort of outcome with the Celtic Warriors and we're not prepared to do the same again.
OFFS now it's bloody Cardiff! Will it never end.
God in heaven WRU interviewing Carwen , inmates running the asylum
Is there any news coming out this week, or have we gone silent until next season?
off topic why no ST renewals? all other regions are up and running a month ago
off topic why no ST renewals? all other regions are up and running a month ago
In terms of a new ground , what will be will be
what was more concerning were various rumours of Mikes estrangement from the O’s
@paul.rogers83 Traffic was exceptional on Wednesday night due to the barrier repair work between J46 and J47, lots of people, me included hit the bypass and through Swansea to skip the jam that started at J44. It was also a new destination for many so maybe didn't have a tried and tested plan in mind to how they were going to get there and where they were going to park. It was also a one-off game so no real planning or contingency put in by the organisers. If we do return to SH there will no doubt be parking options made available, everyone will know how long they need to give it to drive in, and no doubt public transport will be exploited more. Travel to the ground shouldn't be a hindrance to progress
Any more murmurings on the St Helens possibility? With the unfortunate goings on in the English premiership, if there’s any possibility of a Anglo Welsh happening it’s gotta be now Any positive statements of intent from our owners can only help with this?
Some good news in that Tips is giving up Internationals but not Ospreys. What an International career. Thanks.
Have we run out of good news coming out of the ospreys, it’s gone awful quiet.
Lydiate confirmed as signing for Dragons…sorry that we couldn’t keep him but chuffed he’s got a contract somewhere else. Great player. WoL also reporting that Ratti is likely to join us…I believe that was mentioned on here as a rumour a month or so ago.
Tell me boys, as interesting as all this is, is there any concrete evidence that this is happening at all. I'm in Ireland atm helping my daughter and family move back to Wales so can't follow things too closely and there is nothing in the Fail or the Beeb. Keep the news coming and is there anything on the signing or releasing front.
Thanks Wayne

to bring stand and club to todays standards, access, toilets, hospitality facilities would in my experience be a knockdown and rebuild the cheaper option
turning the pitch would involve cutting into the bank
one scenario would to be develop Swansea end of the pitch with stands to East, south and west
clubhouse at North at high level overlooking ground ,but needs much expansion for viewing and hospitality boxes, and disability access
an expensive option , be it the stands to east and west could incorporate facilities to allow part of present south stand to be utilised, and maybe the west stand delayed as part of phase 2
no doubt the desighn and costs are being evaluated
but greenfield sites are always cheaper to develop and provide bespoke results
note CCSx have the Arena to fill , Fabian Way is in Neath county
What are the feelings/thoughts of Ospreys home being St Helen's? As a Swansea man, I'd be absolutely delighted, but I'm thinking of the Neath, Aberavon, Bridgend etc people amongst us...
What no announcements today?
Good job the senior players are all leaving!
Met up with some summer mates yesterday. A former wales international told me there are dressing room concerns with Booth. Ie hes lost the senior players. The other talking point is the proposed redevelopment of St Helen’s. The plans are complete, the cricket club looking for somewhere else to play. No timescale and not fully clear whose behind this and the scale of redevelopment.
I can remember someone saying a month or two ago that the ospreys would be announcing some exciting news…maybe after something Mike ruddock had said? Have they announced it? just Wondering if it related to us re-signing a pjayer or if it was to do with something els?
No announcement today?
Webb to Biarritz being heavily rumoured. Probably in all parties interest
If anyone would like to know and not aware that Swansea rfc are playing the Barbarians at the end of May Wednesday 31st
James Ratti telling mates he’s signed for the Ospreys?
Of course you could play cricket in the summer,as long as there is no stand built, just like it is now.
It must be quite expensive to run cricket out of St H. The wicket and outfield is high maintenance and I wouldn’t have thought that Swansea generate any gate receipts nor any bar take. It’s a bit of a luxury really.
Cricket at St Helens is Swansea Cricket Club, they have been there since 1860.
They develop players (youngsters). They have just had a lot of work done on the outdoor bar .
Speaking to a chap whose involved in the cricket at St Helens,He said there have been talks ,it would mean according to him ,the end of cricket there. How could you turn the playing area 90 degrees? there is not enough room surely.
Any chance of some positive news out today, this week?
After the week we've had, the unlucky IMO defeat to Saracens then the news of Hawkins and Root leaving, we really could do with some good news.
So if any Ospreys hierarchy are reading this Forum, please give us some good news soon.
Is there any chance of any good news this week? He says hopefully.
Not duly over concerned we have Kieron and Jac signed
Joe Hawkins is joining Exeter Chiefs at the end of the season - confirmed on Twitter and on the official Ospreys site.
This could have implications on his Wales aspirations as he only has 5 caps.
Not sure how reliable it is but.
I notice Sam Moore at 6 for Swansea against Cardiff tomorrow. Is this the same player who signed for us but is yet to play a game?
Unfortunately and perhaps not surprising, it looks like Anscombe won’t be around next year, as per Booth
T Falatau was sitting behind me and wife on Saturday, his daughter was wearing a Os European shirt, I can dream brilliant pkayer.
according to reports in France, Anscombe has agreed a reduced deal to stay in Wales. Whether thats with the ospreys I don't know...
According to The Rugby Paper today Owen Williams and Jac Morgan have signed up with us again, but Gareth Anscombe in a front page article has received a £100K drop in wages offer and he could receive better offers from France and Japan, so we will have to wait and see.
TTW off to Japan
I was wondering why only two of our successful U18s are to be capped by Wales and only when I counted did I see the pattern. Pughy has picked 8 Exiles in the starting 15, boys based outside Wales. Perhaps he has seen enough of the RAG league but if they are better than guys like Ben Evans and Kian Hire they are mighty impressive.
Sam Parry called into the Wales squad to cover for the injured Scott Baldwin and Kieran Williams has been released from the Squad because of the groin injury he picked up against Benetton.
It will be touch and go if he is to be fit for the Sarries match.
Owen Williams in advanced talks to stay with us, hope that’s true it does come from the rugby paper.
Browsing news on line Mirror article says Trailblazers now threatening to leave RFU !
they may have approached Ospreys , who are always going to listen to determine if its advantageous , but reviewing the article its clear indication is that all the briefing of lazy journos was by Trailblazers
seems to fit as our shareholders are always very adverse to commenting on any issue
37% of the players representing Wales seniors and Under 20’s are from the Ospreys region.
A great idea to hope they close:)
Only in Wales
Comments on the Scarlet Forum states “ Osprey under 18’s playing for the Trailblazers this Friday and I understand this has happened before “
anyone know if we have an Academy arrangement with them
Or is our friendly Frail jock spreading disinformation
Looks like the database is playing up again. “Ealing Ospreys” thread seems to be missing this afternoon?
All these rumours regarding Ealing Broadway
remember the Whites left the premiership and played add hoc English teams ( men and boys said Gubb’s after meeting the Turks in the cup)
conjecture
aided by our shareholders , finger to the WRU , merge with Ealing , play in the English League at the Liberty/ Swansea stadium
added value we would have our players outside prescribed international timetable
The News thread is back now (hopefully)
I see the rumours won’t go away……
