After a rather impressive win against French Top14 Castres, the Ospreys will travel up to Worcester for the next round of the European Challenge Cup next Saturday with an 8pm kickoff. A Worcester side showing 15 changes from the Premiership side last out against Bristol, lost a close game to Pau only by a last minute try so the Ospreys can take nothing for granted at Sixways where there will be a few thousand fans in attendance.
The artificial surface at Sixways should produce a fast flowing game so the Ospreys will need to play for the full 80 minutes. Will the winning side remain or will we see Watkin, Webb and Giles make a welcome return, injuries notwithstanding?
I think Tips should return if fit so the starting team will be similar to last week...
G Thomas, S Parry, M Fia, L Ashley, R Davies, W Griffiths, J Tipuric (c), M Morris *Lydiate for Tips if unfit
S Venter, S Myler, G North, K Williams, T Thomas-Wheeler, M Protheroe, D Evans
Reps
N Smith, I Phillips (1 of 3), T Botha, A Beard, D Lydiate (*Cracknell) M Aubery, *O Watkin, *K Giles -- *S Williams *L Morgan

Agree about Myler. Calm direction from 10 is what we’ve needed for a while and his goal kicking has got to be up there with the best in the league. I’m loving the way that the players all seem to be playing for each other.
I am particularly impressed with the way Toby Booth has harnessed the calm control of Stephen Myler , he is definitely HIS player and obviously referred to it in the post match interview, it gave me such a new confidence about our future. I know Myler isn’t one for the future but you can’t fault the extremely professional job he is doing for us right now. In Toby we trust!
We are definitely winning games that the last couple of years we would have lost, the younger players are playing really well.
I felt quite confident with RMW box kicks , and that’s something i don’t usually feel in any rugby game. He seemed to get great distance in them and I thought it was a perfect counter tactic to use against them. It seemed that if they chose to run from deep which they often did , we coped, but when they ran from up close in our own half we looked extremely vulnerable, our reaction time seemed a little off, even , dare I say Tips too. I am so excited about our future with these young men coming through, Griffiths, Morgan, Prothero, RMW, K.Williams, Rhys Davies etc. It finally seems as if we have a future beyond Alun Wyn and Tips. Could be good times ahead, especially with a level headed intelligent coach.
I thought the same but as none of the Osprey players seemed to question it I thought it might just have been due to the camera angle.
Although I try to remind myself that forward passes tend to level out across the season, the try that beck made had a ridiculous forward pass in it. A great win though and as others have said, great team performance but north and Morris were immense. Morgan Morris was like a man possessed when he came on. epic performance by him.

Showed great character to come from behind to win the game. Morgan Morris was excellent and North showing us what he can do to defences when he runs at them. Great win but, tougher challenges lie ahead. This is a game we would have lost last year.
Great win, only negative was box kicking possession away.
Deserved win that was
Damn, that was some recovery from the Ospreys. At 56 minutes I wrote that the game was gone and that a massive last 20 would be needed and boy did we have a massive last twenty. George North was immense and the impact from Morgan Morris was phenomenal. All 23 played their part though. Great win and a BP.
I’ve got a feeling we’ll win today.
Very strong back row and centres for Worcester, seems a tougher team than their Pau selection.
Another decent guess at the team with just four players wrong - Lydiate for Morris, Beard for Ashley, Morgan Williams for Venter and Watkin for Thomas-Wheeler.
Here is the Ospreys team to face Worcester
I went up there two seasons ago and it was a shame to see us field such a weakened side, but I think it probs my heloed blood some players. I remember thinking ‘wait til u come down to LS’...they did and they did the double over us lol. Loved their ground...wish we had somewhere like that.
I’m guessing that the 4g won’t be as important in the last twenty as dominating the scrum and manufacturing penalties. Judging by their starting props, we should be able to exploit them late on.
I’d play:
Evans, North, Watkin, Williams, Protheroe, Myler, Webb; Smith, Parry, Fia, Beard, Davies, Griffiths, Morris, Tipuric
Jones, Lake, Botha, Lydiate, Cracknell, Venter, Thomas, Wheeler
When first seeing them I’d have never said Morgan Morris was an 8 and Will Griffiths a 6, due to Morris’ size and Griffiths not looking too athletic. But they have both made an impact in those positions and feel like new signings even though they were with us last year. I think that activity on and off the pitch in the next 9 months or so will be interesting and hopefully exciting.
