Last time Booth was a HC it was with London Irish and he appointed a recently retired international player in Mike Catt as his attack coach and Dave Ellis the former French defence and former rugby league coach. Catt is currently attack coach for Ireland and Ellis was being sounded out by Bath for defence coach. He also worked under Mike Ford when he was forwards coach at Bath.
I think it is a genuine appointment, It looks like a pretty decent job. If things go wrong he fires the coaches before he is fired. A lot better job security for him. We must have known about this so should have been scouting for a replacement. Sure we need athletic players but with a limited budget they don't grow on trees and I doubt you could get them in quick enough to affect this season. Far better to spend on a decent defence coach now until we get to the off season and in the meantime plan for who we can release and who we can sign.
Milldew on the money again. Perhaps he knows who we may be talking to.
@TaI Exactly. You can improve agility with things like an SAQ programme but it is almost impossible to improve basic foot speed. We have to recruit fast, agile type of players in the off season.
The back line I would like to see against Ulster would look something like :-
Nagy, Cuthbert, Collins, Watkin, Protheroe, Myler, Morgan or Morgan-Williams with Giles, K Williams and Webb as replacements.
Obviously that is dependent on the fitness of Collins and Harri Morgan and the availability of Cuthbert and Protheroe.

Whomever takes over has a hell of a job. So many slow, unathletic players, particularly in the backs.
That is a very interesting question. I would answer with I doubt the Ospreys worked particularly hard to keep him but happy to be proven wrong.
