Same one I think. Nicky was stunned and then furious. Both Italian refs this weekend penalised players for holding on while their tacklers were failing to release them.

What really gets my goat are the refs who are really hot on in-at-the-side but only for defenders. Support players can fly in from anywhere according to many URC refs.

The maul was always going to be issue with us going for the smaller back row to snuff their wide game and the Italian joke referee just guessing on penalties that gave them field position. The good news is we went toe to toe with a top half team and with better officiating and composure at our own mauls would have won . So disappointing to come away with nothing but some good pointers for the future.

Just watched it back and their third try was all sorts of illegal. He it was given I'll never know. To see Walsh pinged for an offside moments earlier considering what was going on all game, really makes you question the integrity of the officials.

Disappointed with the result obviously and peed off with the variance in refereeing standards in the URC, but I think it’s been a heartening start to the season.

Attack looks sharper than last year, you can see Mark Jones’ growing influence on the defence and we’re bringing through some decent young players. If we hadn’t had such a slow start in Connacht and had a competent referee yesterday, we could have had four wins.

It was notable whilst we could not combat the driving maul we made a real fist of the scrums

My big beef was the way the ref allowed their players to leave the line out early to be in a position to push the jumper , and to have a player blocking in front of the jumper as he landed

It happened right in front of me. He had come through the middle and counter-rucked which is exactly what they did at almost all of our breakdowns without penalty. I need to watch it again but it looked fine live.

I could not believe the one where he penalised us when it was clearly them going early.

As soon as they showed the replay of Kieran getting hurt, I said that Weir was upright with little or no mitigation but he got away with a yellow.

I thought that Tips was incredibly unlucky as it looked like the lifter had dropped his man onto Tips rather than the other way around.

Not on terrestrial until tomorrow but all comments were furious about the officiating. We still should have beaten what sounded like a very unimaginative Glasgow. That they took away the single point right at the end is galling.

The reason Morgan gets so much game time is he is rarely injured and most of our other wingers are injury prone and unavailable for so many games

In the PC Toby was asked who was his best 7 at the moment and the reporter mentioned HD, Toby said there wasn't a bad 7 playing for the BaaBaas, he never mentioned Jac, so I took from that that Jac would be one of the players rested, I also agree Dewi could be playing and he also mentioned GT would be available, so wouldn't be surprised to see both Nicky and him selected, I'm a bit worried whether either of our selected centres from last week would be able to handle Tuipulotu especially if he runs at Walsh, who would surely start at 10 .

Just to add I seriously doubt I'll be there on Saturday, I've had a recurrence of my back trouble and been in bed for a few days and it's not getting any better, so shout a bit louder all of you just for me.

Jason, this is sport, what is the point of being sensible? You make very good suggestions, if only there were no emotions or baggage involved, but we have all had false hope shattered and deliriously joyous unexpected success. We are not rational.

I would rather crash to a horrible defeat than coldly set out on damage limitation. Other disasters are available.

The correct answer will only come with hindsight. Glasgow fully loaded have the wide game to cut us apart as our defence is not good out wide. Hopefully a wet evening and a slippery ball will be the order of the day. So many variables in the URC. The officiating is poor and teams go fully loaded some times but not all times.

On points we lie equal 4th in the table less than one 4 point win off the lead. Perhaps if we were a little lower down it would be better to concentrate on the Cup but it feels like a hostage to fortune or an example of "commentator's curse" to risk success in the league for merely the chance of a Cup run.

I honestly don't think that it does any group of sporting team mates any good to accept second best in one sector for a gamble in another sector and we do have some momentum we can't afford to lose. The Cup opponents will all be serious challenges if they too target the Cup.

Completely agree, let's go for it.

I can understanding resting key players for away fixtures against top 8 sides but any home fixture needs the best we can get because you never know with referee calls and injuries whether you lose games you should win. The only issue is integration but to me home games you go with the strongest available.
