I’d be very surprised if they dumped Duncan and brought in Adam on his wages... The rest I can’t answer. The board obviously rate them as they’re staying on.
Ruddock is off home to Ireland after next season is up and Booth moves to DoR. Plan is to bring Peel over on the promise of a promotion from BC to HC when Booth moves up. of course things can change in that fourteen months but Booth is here to be DoR.
The interesting part here is Herring refused the role because he wasn’t given freedom to choose his own staff/retentions/recruitment (within budget) so I’m keen to find out what the structure with Booth will be. He doesn’t strike me as someone who’s suffer Dan Griffiths or Millward.
@MD MILLDEW I had heard a while back only Pugh and Hogg were the only coaches guaranteed to remain. What is the view on Pugh? Our defence has been poor but a lot of that is down to how badly our back three defend. Luke Morgan and Cai Evans in particular are positionally clueless and Hanno is just not quick enough. I do wonder if Booth may consider Adam a better scrum coach option than Duncan
From what I’ve read over recent weeks with players renewing, they certainly seem to have confidence in the future. I’ll be renewing my season. Great to see the young guns doing so well tonight beating England but the only sour note for me was thinking Costello, one of our own and the man of the match but a Scarlet from next year.
@paul.rogers83 It will be interesting to see where Ruddock's role ends up. Booth is a very experienced coach so one would expect him to start selecting the new assistant coaches and future recruitment and retention and take charge of first team matters. At that point does Ruddock sort out the academy? Does he sort out the off field shambles? He really needs to become the face of the franchise and try and bring back disenchanted fans.
With Mike Ruddock undoing Millwards sloppy, nepotistic work in under a year and with more good news to come.... Surely it’s time for those of us disillusioned lot to get back behind the region with a new season ticket?
All of a sudden the clouds are clearing and the future is bright.
