I haven’t seen much of Nicky since his Swansea days, he was big then and showed great promise. He appears to have got even bigger and it did not look like muscle, he looks like a throwback to pre regional rugby days. I switched off the last five minutes due to terrible tv reception.
The whole game is now on you tube where the feed is more stable now. . Really outstanding effort from our young loose head. Must have played himself on to the bench for Zebre. Their young centre Mason Grady looks a serious future international prospect at just 18. Brother of Corey Allen.
@Nidum good to see you back posting my friend. Nicky has always been a big boy and he still is from what I saw briefly of the game. We did win a scrum penalty where Nicky was the TH.
I think Dewi Lake went off with what looked like a whack to the head.
The performance of young Garyn Phillips against Asserati was very encouraging for the future. Lake's throwing has improved but is still well below standard. Fender looks a good lineout forward in the making. Our front five was competitive. The biggest disappointments were the senior players. Cracknell Evans Venter Dirksen all looked very ordinary against a Cardiff reserve side and no better and in some cases worse than some of the young players alongside them. Luke Price on his return was much like last season and we are going to struggle to beat anybody if he takes the field in the critical 10 position.

I only managed to see the last bit of the game. Has Nicky Thomas done anything about his weight problem?
Scrum went well, poor line outs. Blues backs offered more in attack and were the difference today.
