AWJ Toulon Debut

Please could somebody educate me about AWJ leaving the Ospreys. I cannot find any farewell speech or thanks to the region that raised me, and made me who I am anywhere. Did he just leave with no fanfare or have I missed something big somewhere down the line?

AWJ was a wonderful servant but it's time to move on now with younger players with everything to look forward too.

Tony said there were funds for his contract renewal

Why did he not renew

Why after turning down so many offers from England and France in the past

Is he now saying lots left in tank and Hope to extend my short term Contract with Toulon

I suspect he did not renew because the amount he wanted/ could command on the worldwide market would have taken up far too much of the salary cap to make it viable.

the funds in the budget were there to cover him to the end of his contract in October not to extend him

I just wish he had given some sort of thanks to the Ospreys fans , that I had seen. My only memory is of his cursory wave as he came off and ran down the tunnel during his final Ospreys game, it left me feeling that he had somehow fallen out with the Ospreys coaching team or management.
